Jenna Fischer was best known for portraying Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) on television. This role has earned her an Emmy nod for the Best Supporting Actress category and she also received two SAG Awards, both for outstanding performances by an ensemble comedy.
She was born and raised in Fort Wayne in Indiana. Jenna spent her childhood watching her mother Anne performing in church plays. This instilled in her an interest in theater.
Following the conclusion of The Office, Fischer, an actress trained in theater, returned to her home base. The Off-Broadway production Reasons for Being Happy was directed and written by Neil LaBute, with Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb and Fred Weller. After starring in Steve Martin's latest production Meteor Shower (an absurdist comedy co-written by Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg), she went on to perform at the Old Globe Theatre's record-breaking world premiere.
The Office actress Angela Kinsey Fischer's friend from real life and castmate, launched Office Ladies in October 2019 on Earwolf. The show became extremely popular, and was ranked in the Top Ten of the world every week. It received over 200,000,000 downloaded during its first two years. In January 2021, Office Ladies won iHeart Radio's Podcast of the Year award.
She is the writer of two books. The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide In it, she details her journey to St. Louis to Hollywood to become a working actor, as well as the upcoming Office BFF's: Tales of The Office From Two Best Friends Who Were There (co-authored by Angela Kinsey) The book is a memoir of their best relationship and their time for The Office.
